The people are again out pointing that the win is mere sympathy and not gesturing her capabilities to be of differe>

Oscar Water s on hopes of Rang De Basanti

OSCAR ‘WATER’S HOPES OVER ‘RANG DE BASANTI’
Fingers crossed, putting on lucky attire and chanting prayers are common sights seen among filmmakers and stars all over world before announcement of Academy Award nominations. The lights are on and stress levels are high, till announcements are made. The Indian camp had all the hopes pinned up for their runner, ‘Rang De Basanti’. But, the disappointment was all we were awarded with. But the surprise doesn’t end here, to add to woe Indian film, ‘Water’ earned nomination from Canada.
The film ‘Water’, made by Indian filmmaker Deepa Mehta starring Bollywood stars is produced and marketed by huge banner, ‘Fox’ company. The lobbying and promotions of film by them are extraordinary and cannot match the mere efforts by our country’s production houses. The Indian film industry has suffered a lot nationally and internationally for the petty ignorance and blindness of our countrymen. The film, ‘Water’ which has received accolades from world over and festivals abroad, was originally film from India made here. But, thanks to some politically motivated and religion instigated people stormed in its location and forced the crew to shelve the film. The film had to be shot elsewhere and no production houses were ready to produce and distribute it. The shame was aggravated on knowing that it had defeated Indian entry to Oscars.
The ‘Water’s entry is not on cost of ‘Rang De Basanti’ s exit. But, the lost is due to poor promotion of our films in festivals overseas. It is depressing to see a path breaking film missing an opportunity due to silly ignorance and lack of interpretation power and funds. Let’s hope in future, India won’t be ashamed at cost of Indians.

Recently, the media from newspapers to news channels and magazines all carried a piece of news too seriously. From cover pages to front page headlines to top stories all were screaming to get us an engagement affair of a Bollywood couple. It’s mindless and dumb to mention the names I am talking about. The doubts and memoirs have been raiding my brain that if any couple has got that much of coverage and speculation as this one got.
Even before, the news were confirmed, the rumors were splashed on print by everyone. Astrologers and numerologists were interviewed and question about the probability of the couples chances to turn in real life couple. The camera followed to every inch of earth they went, be it holy places or premieres. The glances and laughs were guide to build conversations and body language was viewed and guessed that they are seeing each other. The privacy was publicized and hype was surrounding them. The ex boyfriend of lady were interviewed. One cannot help to notice but that rumors of alleged link up with her exs came when their movie was floored and about to release. Be it Salman before Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or Vivek before Kyun Ho Gaya Na and now Abhisekh before Umrao Jaan. Was it publicity stunt to emerge her career boat that was drowning every time?? Anyways, the films with the beau didn’t work until recent Guru. The buzz is on and lights are all around them till they take their nuptial vow and perhaps the nuptial night would be recorded and made as films!!! Who know????? Let’s all hope and pray for couple, they have their strings attached with all buzz going around them
